August 2004 Colin Walford working on weatherboards in the barn. Someone worked out that in total we have used about a mile of boards. Each one has to have the corners sanded off, sand the top surface, knotting, one undercoat and one top coat before fixing and then a further two topcoats once in position on the mill. Hence you can tell who our workers are as their clothes are covered in white paint. The barn, about a mile from the mill, was kindly loaned by Alan Jenner and has been a real boon. Somewhere to store the timber in the dry and where we can work when it is raining.
