Mystery Machine

Oldland Mill Trust is trying to find out what the hand driven machine shown in the photographs below was used for. It is thought to be a piece of farm machinery as it was found in an old barn in Burgess Hill when it was being cleaned out. There is a cylinder with cutting edges on it that rotates when the large wheel is turned so the machine may be a cutter of some sort. We are interested to know :-           What sort of machine is it.           What product was it used for.           Approximate idea of age.           Whether this is a commercial or domestic piece of equipment.           Any other information that might be relevant.   Any information, however small would be very helpful.
